Join us for the inaugural performance of the 2018 inDIGenous Jazz Series, a bi-weekly celebration of the local artists who make Madison's vibrant jazz scene what it is today. Kicking off this year's lineup is percussionist extraordinaire Rick Flowers. The son of a pianist, Flowers grew up deeply immersed in the sounds of funk, soul and blues. His musical journey began at the ripe age of eight with the saxophone, though as he developed as a musician he found himself more at home behind the drum set. A devout Christian, Flowers works to bridge the gap between jazz music and gospel, creating stirring, soulful music in the process.
Come see him live this Friday, and be sure to catch the upcoming artists in our 2018 inDIGenous jazz series.
Presented by WUD Performing Arts Committee and Madison Music Collective.
