Hoofers Winter Carnival
Just Because It's February Doesn't Mean We Can't Play Outside!
Show your outdoorsy side by sporting a flannel shirt! Bonus points if you have a Hoofer Ski & Snowboard winter hat!
This tradition goes back to the 1940s when the Wisconsin Hoofers took over general management of the annual Winter Carnival. The week-long flurry of activity was a mixture of athletic contests, social events, and demonstrations of school spirit. Plaid flannel shirts and ski sweaters were considered mandatory attire during the week.
We're kicking off Monday strong with a coffee bar, too. Come to the Hive on the Memorial Union Terrace from 3-5pm in your flannel to enjoy a free cup of coffee with your friends.
