The Cork 'n Bottle String Band is a six-member bluegrass band from Madison, Wisconsin. The band formed in 1996, taking their name from a local liquor store on East Johnson St.
The first 6 1/2 years of their world tour were primarily focused on South Butler Street in Madison, Wisconsin at Ken's Bar & Grill (and Deep Fry). Since the closing of that bar the band has broadened its horizons and can now often be seen playing as far west as the UW Memorial Union with regular tour stops at The Frequency and High Noon Saloon, also in Madison. So far the world tour has taken the band across two states and one continent.
This event is intended for UW-Madison students, faculty, staff, Wisconsin Union members and their guests. Anyone can become a Wisconsin Union member at union.wisc.edu/membership.
