Boban and Marko Markovic Orchestra Performance Cancelled
No sooner do we announce a performance by the Boban and Marko Markovic Orchestra than the North American tour is cancelled. We regret to inform that the band’s management decided to cancel the tour so the March 4 show that was planned for the Wisconsin Union Theater will not happen.
Patrons who purchased tickets will be contacted soon to review their refund or exchange options. Alternatively, patrons may contact our Box Office Administrator, Ted Harks (608-262-9909), if they have any questions.
The Wisconsin Union Theater is committed to providing our patrons and performers with the best experience possible. We thank our patrons for their understanding and cooperation.
The Boban and Marko Markovic Orchestra, boasting a loud, proud and brassy Romani sound, has a rich and storied musical history. Boban Markovic received his first trumpet at the age of five and was surrounded by music made by his father. When he reached 10 years of age, he began performing as part of his father's orchestra. He went on to play with other bands at age 16 and four years later he founded his own orchestra. Boban has competed with his orchestra in countless competitions and performed at hundreds of festivals, winning many awards and prizes. His son, Marko Markovic, who started playing the trumpet at age 11, joined the group in 2002 and is now the main soloist and musical arranger of the band.
