Sad House Guest makes music because nothing else makes sense. After gigging for 6 years under lead singer Samuel Stein’s name, they became Sad House Guest in the wake of the pandemic, establishing their new sound with a 4-piece indie-rock, brew-pop band. Ben Stein plays drums, Sam Lakmann on keys and fun sounds, Tor Kjartansson on bass and fiddle. They combine stream-of-conscience lyrics with energetic and improvisatory music. The Eau Claire community has helped establish them as a band that people can gather around and forget about their post-pandemic troubles for just one show. They have released two EPs: Bugs in My Brain (folksy, basement pop vibe) and Electric Veins (full band, live rock vibe).
