Returning after their success in the 2010 Madison World Music Festival, Barbara Furtuna is a polyphonic Corsican quartet specializing in profoundly complex music in the tradition of the French island of Corsica. Since forming in 2004, the four men have collaborated with tenor Placido Domingo, the baroque ensemble L'Arpeggiata, and the Persian music ensemble Constantinople. "The intensity and expression kept me mesmerized through the entire performance," reviewer Bernardo Gordillo says of the quartet.
