She was the ultimate patriot. Now, what she knows could bring down the government. Libby Lamm (Tika Sumpter) is a former top national security advisor who, while working with Rachel Burke (Jamie Lee Curtis), a ruthless, steely-willed political veteran, signed off on a controversial military action that was supposed to end the war on terror.
Collen Griffen has written, directed, and produced the mockumenetary web series, "boyband", and wrote her feature directoral debut of "The Cold and the Quiet" in 2013, which won the Best Narrative and Best Direction at the Women's Independent Film Festival in Los Angeles. In addition to producing "An Acceptable Loss", she has produced other feature films for Joe Chappelle, "Already Dead" (2007) for Sony Pictures, and the award-winning "Thieves Quartet" (1994).
In addition to Colleen Griffen, the UW faculty panel includes Professor Andrew Kydd and Christopher Price. Dr. Kydd joined the UW-Madison Department of Political Science in 2007, and his interests and research are centered around game theoretic analysis of international security issues, such as proliferation, terrorism, and conflict resolution. Christopher Price is the 2019-2020 Wisconsin International Relations fellow and a 2019-2020 USIP Peace Scholar. Chris studies the dynamics and legacies of war violence and is particularly interested in how violence affects ethnic and other group identities. His research is supported by the United States Institute of Peace, the Japan Foundation, and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University.
