Need something to do to unwind after a busy week? Wondering how you could meet new people from different walks of life on campus? Join us at Afternoon Conversation Series (ACS) for an interesting conversation!

ACS is a facilitated weekly experience put on by WUD Global Connections where you can engage in friendly conversations over different interactive themes presented each week.

This week our topic of discussion will be "The Missionary Position: How Religion fits in the modern scientific world" with Professor Ronald Numbers.

Some people had argued an end of religion with the emergence of science. Despite being maligned by repeated allegations and proven wrong at multiple steps in history by science, religiousness is on the rise. The opposites haven't stopped either. A satan temple was recently opened in Detroit. What exactly is the role of religion in our societies ? What about religions that want to emerge out of science like Scientology ? And what can we learn from other countries in separating or amalgamating religion and state ? Can religion survive the brunt of science in 21st century ? Join us at ACS with Prof. Ronald Numbers this Friday to talk about Religion and science!

Come and join us for a relaxing Friday afternoon and make new friends. FREE Refreshments are served on a first-come, first-served basis each week—come early to ensure your treat!

Our events are open to UW students, faculty and staff as well as Union members and their guests.
