Posted: 09/28/16
The Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Art committee will celebrate the opening of its new exhibition with a reception on Sept. 30 from 5-7 p.m. in Gallery 1308 in Union South.
This exhibition, titled “The Artistry of Innovation: WARF Patents Through Time”, will feature contemporary and vintage patent drawings from the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). The drawings celebrate the inventors of our past and aim to inspire the innovators of tomorrow.
This exciting reception is both free and open to the public. It will also feature a WARF guest speaker to introduce the unique show.
“We are portraying the work done throughout the campus by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation with this show,” said Haley Fuhr, WUD Art associate director of marketing. “The patents are really diverse in their designs.”
WUD Art is a student-run committee that manages all aspects of exhibitions, from artist selection and installation to marketing efforts. It also programs shows in the Wisconsin Union’s two galleries: the Class of 1925 Gallery in Memorial Union and Gallery 1308 in Union South.
