Campus Farmer's Market at Union South
Posted: 09/03/15
The Wisconsin Union is again hosting a weekly farmer’s market every Thursday from September 3 through October 22 at Union South from 10 am to 2 pm.
Area vendors will sell local and organic products during the Campus Famer's Market outside Union South at the corner of N. Orchard St. and W. Johnson St. Featured vendors include: Parrfection Produce, Munchkey Apples, Tummy Yummies, Bucky’s Bakery, Babcock Dairy Hall, Savory Accents, Amazing Grace Family Farm, and Union Catering. The Wisconsin Union purposefully features local produce, which aligns with its own goals of promoting sustainability and connecting with the community.
"Last year was my first year in business, and the Campus Farmer's Market was my favorite market. I love being a part of the 'between classes' hustle and bustle of students, staff, and faculty," said Cheri Hiller, owner of Tummy Yummies, which offers gluten-free treats. "I am thrilled to be back for the 2015 season."
Students on the Union's dining services committee nurtured the idea of the market, which serves students, faculty and staff who frequent the Union South area.
