Support the Union

Be Part of a Wonderful Tradition
It’s easy to make a gift to the Union at the UW Foundation Web site and your gift can reflect your personal interests. From supporting cultural arts, student leadership opportunities, or facility improvements, you determine the fund or purpose for your donation. By making a gift, you will become part of a wonderful tradition of donor support that has made the Wisconsin Union the heart and soul of UW-Madison since 1928. You can find a sampling of the Wisconsin Union’s rich history here www.union.wisc.edu/history.

The Wisconsin Union is a self-supporting organization that does not receive state tax dollars. It relies on gifts from alumni and friends to help enhance its facilities and assist programs and services.

If you have questions about making a gift to the Union, please contact Glenda Noel-Ney, Director of Development, at 608-262-2687 or noelney@wisc.edu.

Memorial Union Building Association
In 1951, the Memorial Union Building Association was incorporated as a non-profit, educational corporation representing the 80,000+ Wisconsin Union Lifetime Members, with a stated purpose of promoting the interests, welfare, and development of the Wisconsin Union through membership programs, financial stewardship and fundraising.

Established by the UW Board of Regents in the 1920’s to raise the funds to build Memorial Union, the Memorial Union Building Association collected more than $1 million in gifts from UW students and alumni—the single largest fundraising campaign ever undertaken by the University at that time. Fundraising activities continued in the 1930s when money was needed for construction of the Union Theater. For more than 50 years, MUBA has continued to seek private funds for the betterment of the Wisconsin Union.  Click here for more information.
