Mini Courses To Go!

Bring the Mini Course program to your group! We can offer a wide variety of our courses exclusively for your group, even a small group. Listed below are course ideas from Instructors who are excited about coming and teaching exclusively for your group. Fees for each course vary but generally we can offer the learning opportunity at a per person cost far less than a similar course in the Mini Course catalog! If you do not see something on this list that you know your group is interested in, please ask. We will see what might be possible!

Toga Yoga
Our certified and experienced Instructor comes to your fraternity or sorority for either a one-time 75 minute intensive session OR schedule an on-going six session class. One-session offering can be made into a party! Call today for details and rates.

Partner/Social Dance
What dance(s) are you interested in? Our accomplished and professional Instructors, Malia Byers and Connie Reeves, can teach it to you and your group. Regular offerings include Swing, Salsa, Tango, Traditional Ballroom (Foxtrot, Waltz), Cha Cha, Rhumba, Polka, the elegant Viennese Waltz, and more. A single one or two hour session is typical for a beginners’ session and can be a great lead in to a longer group dance event.

Traveling Solo & Loving It
Learn from real-life experience how to travel safely whether you choose to travel alone or with a well-selected companion. Locate reliable resources to create your own tour or connect with other tours, what to pack, ways to get around the language barrier and more. Most importantly, discover how to find the courage to travel alone! Nancy Welch, a Sierra Club trip leader with over 25 years of travel experience leads this two or three hour course.

Inexpensive Home Decorating
You can have expensive taste but still create a fabulous interior at minimal expense! Learn basic design principles and how they can lead you to tasteful and stylish solutions for your home. Let our professional designer show you how.

Meditation, Mindfullness & Yoga
Whether looking for ways to reduce stress, create focus or just escape the rigors of everyday life, learning practices of meditation, mindfullness and yoga can enhance your life. Let Instructor Nancy Hylbert, dedicated to helping people realize their highest human potential, guide your group to a more healthy and stress-free life. A single one to two hour session recommended.

Needle Felting
Using colored wool roving (wool before it is spun into yarn) and a barbed needle you can create art onto most fabrics, simple pins, colorful artwork, fabric embellishments or three dimensional objects. This is a simple and relaxing art form for all ages. Let Nancy Welch, teacher of playful art classes and graphic designer lead your group in a two or three hour course.

Yoga & Chair Yoga
Create balance and flexibility, gain strength and reduce stress learning basic yoga techniques. Lisa Lawrence, a certified yoga Instructor will give you basic skills to build on - your body will love you for it! Chair Yoga stresses techniques that can be done sitting at a desk or any chair. Single, one hour introductory sessions or multiple, sequence building sessions can be arranged.

The Organized Office
Whether you work in a home office or a cubicle, you can improve your productivity and make your work environment more pleasant by discovering your own way to organize your work space and activities. Rita will help you make your workspace(s) more productive.

Silk Scarf Painting
Create beautiful hand-painted silk scarves using unique and easy techniques for dyeing. These scarves make great gifts. . No art background necessary for a fun two to three hour session. Nancy Welch is a graphic designer who loves teaching playful art courses.

Speed Reading & Reading Aerobics
Whether reading is easy, or a chore for you, learning techniques to enhance your reading speed and increase your ability to understand insights will help. Let our experienced Instructor, Ed Lucas help you and your group build practical reading skills. Both single, one hour and multiple sequence building sessions are possible.

Collage Card Making
Create collage note cards from materials that are found and unique. Learn simple composition and materials for overlay. Not a stamping class although we will use stamps and many items that exist around your house as you create several one-of- a-kind cards. Can be a two or three hour session with Nancy Welch who loves teaching playful art classes.

Clutter Control
Is your stuff taking over your life? Do you have papers everywhere? Learn how to find your own way to get and stay organized using simple techniques and systems that will free up time and energy for what really matters.

Pounded Flower Art
Hammer flower petals and leaves onto cotton linter, watercolor paper and fabric for the most beautiful and magical transfers. You can make them into note cards, book marks, transfer to clothing and quilts, or framed art by using the original art. No art background needed for this two or three hour session led by graphic designer Nancy Welch.
