Do I have to be a UW-Madison alumnus to become a member?
No. Wisconsin Union membership is open to everyone- whether or not you went to school here.
Can I bring guests to the Union?
Yes. Your non-member guest can:
• Accompany you
• Enroll in the same mini-course class you take at the same low member-rate
• Plus, you can enroll your kids in Hoofer youth programs or Mini Course classes
Are UW faculty, staff, or guest students considered members?
They are welcome to use the Union as associates of the university and enjoy SOME Union privileges. To receive full benefits, you must purchase a Union membership.
Where do my membership fees go?
The Wisconsin Union is completely self-supporting and operates without any state appropriations. Your membership ensures the Union will be here for you, your friends and future students.

Can I give a Union membership as a gift?
Yes. Anyone can purchase gift memberships and special rates are applied to the recipient’s status (i.e.: A student’s parent can give the gift that lasts a lifetime at the low rate of $55 for a lifetime membership).
The Wisconsin Union also offers gift cards, T-shirts, and other Union items to accompany your membership gift! http://www.union.wisc.edu/terracestore/
What’s the difference between an annual membership and a lifetime membership?
Lifetime memberships ensure that you always have access to the Wisconsin Union. Annual memberships can be renewed at any time and all annual payments are automatically applied toward a lifetime membership. Upon a fifth and final payment of annual membership fees, you are sent your lifetime membership card!
